Bougainvillea Moon

Yes, there are hundreds of flowers that I could spell without a dictionary. But the color reminded me of the bougainvillea I saw in California ages ago and the word wasn't going to let me go. *sigh*

The craft scavenger strikes again. Found a packet of absolutely gorgeous quality moonstone. More translucent than I often find, and really friendly to the light. (Made them mildly more photgenic too. I think everything I got that the show is particularly fussy abotu photographs. *sigh* Seems like they were bits from larger broken pieces maybe. (Either just small bits were off or the original pieces must have been serious hunks, because this rectangle is bigger than any of the cabs I've ever bought I think.) Each had one irregular side. But that doesn't deter wire wrappers

So I added some vines and bead berries and carved garnet leaves to balance out the uneven bits.

The extended bail makes this a fairly long piece, but I'm fond of the effect with the extra garnets and the twisted wire. The best part about the chain is the fact that the clasp will fit through each link. So while it's cut and finished to be a 20" piece (a hair short to balance out the bail actually) it can be worn any shorter length as well with the garnet and gold curl dangling.
