Description
Copper, sterling silver, brachiopod.
A bit over 1 3/4" tall by about 1 1/2" wide.
Yes, I need to move on from these. But I'm having a lot of fun playing with the little suckers. Think I finally ran out of color variations for the moment. Supposedly they're sometimes called butterfly shells, I'd love to figure how to do a not over the top butterlfy wrap with a slimmer one someday.
This one came identified as a Mucrospirifer thedfordensis from southwest ontario and was dated mid devonian. I suspect my second brachiopod wrap might be one as well, they had a similar shape and chubbiness to the body. Though that one was a little more compact. But I really have no idea of the natural variation within species for these guys.
This one is for sale, may go up on etsy [link] or note me. $52+shipping.

Awesome! I think Ginko leaves are some of the most simple and beautiful shapes in nature.
