First bezel run.

I uhm, toasted the silver a little when I was annealing the wire (studio was out, so I was panhandling for mildly used wire...) so even more uneven at the solder point than it would otherwise be.

Sterling on nickel silver, garnet. Came out too wide for a dogtag really, but the medical gauze texture with the blood red garnet made me think of my own special medical alert pendant, here lies a klutz!

I'm trying to get copper wire to ball up for bars and turn some of them into toggles to use with my mix tone 4-1 half persians. Currently I'm just getting *really* annoyed with the copper! So I'm thinking I'll have to find a different route. Like fudging with wire instead...

copper has a VERY high melting point, if you have a specific idea in mind i could probably help you out with that, my rewound microwave transformer melts copper wire in a second... only thing i can suggest for doing it with a torch is getting some copper alloy welding rods, those will ball...

Thanks, hopefully I won't ever have to explain it to medical personel ;)

I learned that part the hard way ;) So I'm thinking for now I'll stick to simple things like filing and sanding for rounded ends. As said, it was nothing major, I just saw other people doing wires with the drops on the ends and wondered if I could use that to make the bar for a toggle. I was playing with wirewrap toggle ideas, so might go back to those.

what gauges are you talking about? with the drops i mean... wrapped toggles are ugly, no matter how well they're made... in my opinion at least
