Artist's Comments

For the :iconartisancraft: Friday project. Hopefully it's forgivable that I did this in the middle of the week :p

14K gold fill, rutilated quartz, almandine and rhodolite garnet.

Now up on etsy: [link] also has smaller images, but a few more views. Including my attempt at an artsy pose on a pumpkin shot...

I'll admit the vinage got away from me here. But it's growing on me :D (Okay, I'm very sorry, but I'm on lots of allergy meds, bear with me!)

As usual, one attempt at an artsy shot and then a hell with it hand shot to actually show the colors. Fun clear rutilated quartz with an almost star like cluster towards one side, nice and sharp. Carved garnets showing up again, and a really dark almandine garnet cab. I hate to say it, but there's a jellybeanish quality to it. Looks dark almost to the point of matte, then the light hits it and *boom* dramatic flash of *RED*

Gorgeous stones in an wonderfully inspired combination!

Thank you. I know I've got to start tiptoeing away from my usual mixes, but I've so much trouble buying stones I'm less fond of.

I'm so annoyed at myself. I made my aunt one with an opal doublet and rhodocrosite, then wrapped it before I remembered to take a photo. *sigh* I wanted evidence that I actually did work with a pink stone at some point ;)

Loved the use of accessory beads! And you did such a lovely job taking the photo. A definite fave.

Thank you, for the compliments both on the piece and the photo :) I have so much trouble catching the beauty of the stones it drives me nuts some days. (Okay, I'm nuts all days, but the photo taking really pushes it...)

Thank you! I had a lot of fun poking through, and I've bookmarked it for further perusal. There's really some stunning work there.

And an extra thanks for including artisan crafts at all, it sometimes feels like the forgotten category!

I'm embarassed that I don't know how to fav and article though
