Okay, I have no proper imaging programs, so I ended up trying to put this together in the program that came with windows.

Sad, I know.

The shape's a bit odd because I was trying to create something that I could both post and print out if I run a class, rather than have to make two separate ones.

Any suggestions (besides spending money on a fancy program ;) ) would be great.

this seems like a great tut. Try GIMP (gimp.org) for a free editing program. It's similar to adobe photoshop, but like I said, free. It's an open source software. I love it personally - for photo editing, painting, creating pages or tuts!

Thank you, I'll take a look. I'm not very good with computers, so I need simple, but I've heard other people mention it :)

it's a little intimidating at first, but there are many tuts for how to use GIMP right here on DA, also on GIMP.org. After a day of messing around, you should start to get it!

The most useful tools in GIMP for photoediting, in my opinion, are brightness-contrast, add border, and crop. I also made up a watermark that I add, but you can just add text to mark your images if you'd like. Also, if you want to save an image instead of a GIMP file, remember to "flatten image" before you save - then you can chose .jpg or whatever type of file you'd like it saved as.

All of these option are available under the tabs on the main window - just look a bit to get familiar with the program!

Oh...my...

This is exactly what I needed to add brooches to the list of things I can make with wire-wrapped glass gems!! Thank you so much :)

Awesome. Let me know if you use it, I'd love to see what other people do with it. I sometimes make a full wrap, but instead of a bail, turn it into the bottom bar of the pin and work from there like in [link] That sort of variation might work well for you :)

Your photos are nice and clear - photos out of focus is a pet peeve of mine! I work on a Mac. I've never done a tutorial before, but I would probably set it up in Photoshop and then just go through the print function to save it as a pdf. I'm not really familiar with how PCs work for this kind of thing.

Thank you. We share that pet peeve :)

I had a gentleman the other day try to convert me to mac explaining how it'd make things like this easier. Of course, he was talking in terms of silly things like business proposals and such...

I actually bought pins to add beads to, so I just need to bend them, but this is a nice tutorial. If I'd seen it first, I wouldn't have bought the pins! I like the twisted look, too.

Eh, I still buy pins, I need to figure how to make pins at the back of things.
