Photographing Stones

  • Mood: Tired
  • Reading: a half dozen things at once
  • Watching: still sg-1
  • Drinking: tea
Any tips for taking pictures of stones? I wrapped a tourmelated quartz piece with a star diopside and am having even more trouble than usual with my photographs, especially with getting the star in the diopside to show.

Edit- Thanks for the tips, and apologies. I missed the news about the relevant to interests virus thingy and clicked, so I'm not sure if anyone is going to be getting junk from my way now. Sorry! I'll also take tips on how to stop that as well as on photography!

oh, yeah, it's the kamikaze butterfly.
try this. set lighting on the stone that makes the star show, then take the picture, no flash.
